The Cactus Theater was first constructed in 1938, and was a second-run motion picture theatre in Lubbock until May 6th, 1958. In January 1993, the Theatre was reopened by businessman and musician Don Caldwell. The new Cactus Theater features 720 seats, washed-air cooling equipment and a 750 food neon lit marquee. The Municipal Auditorium features seating for just under 3,000 patrons and presents concerts, lectures, recitals and full stage productions. The Municipal Colisuem is a multi-purpose facility that hosts major concert events, performances and sporting events.
