The Coliseum predominately hosts various cultural attractions and activities, but also has a covered area used for horse shows. It is also a licensed attraction. Residing in the newly renovated Fort Worth and Denver South Plains Railway Depot, is the Buddy Holly Center. The center features a Buddy Holly Exhibit, Fine Arts Gallery, Texas Musicians Hall of Fame, Special Events, Educational Outreach Programs and a Gift Shop. After undergoing a two million dollar renovation, the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center now highlights a custom designed carpeted and granite entryway and a 14,100 square foot Banquet Hall. The Center hosts more than 800 events and 800,000 guests annually. The Center is dedicated to the memory of those who lost their lives in the 1970 Lubbock Tornado.
